Dee Ann Clark

Dee Clark, 73, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville on Thursday, August 8, 2019, following complications with an injury suffered the previous month.

Dee Ann (Butler) Clark was born in Muskogee, OK, on May 5, 1946, the daughter of Bill and Betty (Thompson) Butler. She graduated from high school in Ft. Smith, AR, but also spent a part of her growing up years in other places, including Japan. She married Buster Sharp and to this union one son, Chadd, was born. She later married Buddy Festervand and three children, Marc, Clay, and Alisa were born to this union. Dee married Jerrad Clark on February 17, 1993, and he survives in Unionville.

Most of Dee’s working career was spent as a nurse at Putnam County Memorial Hospital (where she served as a charge nurse) and hospitals in Albia, IA, and Kirksville, MO. She spent over 25 years at Putnam County in two different employments, the last in administration. Dee loved working with patients, but her health forced her to move behind the desk.

Dee was a person of many different interests including attending sales and auctions and buying “stuff.” Her family affectionately called her “The Stuff Queen.” She also enjoyed collecting dolls and working in ceramics. Dee was an avid reader of romance novels and murder mysteries, but perhaps her greatest enjoyment came from her horses, an enjoyment she shared with Jerrad.

Dee is also survived by her children: Chadd Sharp of Bryan, TX; Marc Festervand of North Little Rock, AR; Clay Festervand of Des Moines, IA; and Alisa Taylor of Unionville, MO; and one step-son, Bram Clark of Salisbury, MO. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren as well as a brother, Paul Hiner of Jupiter, FL, and a sister, Vicky Butler of Milan, MO.

Dee was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Betty and Gerald Hiner, and her father, Bill Butler.

Funeral services for Dee Clark will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Unionville Cemetery.
