Dwayne Yearns, 58, of rural Queen City passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 15, 2018, at his home in rural Queen City.
The son of Harold Otto and Geneva Bergman Yearns he was born August 28, 1960 in Kirksville, Missouri. He grew up in rural Queen City and attended Glenwood Elementary, Queen City Junior High, and graduated from Schuyler R-I High School in Lancaster with the class of 1979.
On May 21, 2016 in Queen City, Dwayne was united in marriage to Teresa Mendenhall.
He worked for Koss Construction of Topeka, Kansas for twenty years and since September of 2017 had worked for Poe Farms.
He is survived by his wife Teresa, three children; Truman, Sadie, and Ian, his mother, four brothers Darel Yearns and wife Teresa, Dale Yearns and wife Julie, Gary Yearns and wife Vicky, and John Yearns and wife Ashley, and a sister Wanda Simmons and husband Joe. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, his mother and father-in-law Loree and Eugene Mendenhall, and a brother-in-law Brad Mendenhall.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, and several aunts and uncles.
He was a member of the Freedom of the Road Riders for several years.
Tator was immensely proud to belong to the Brushy Community. After many years away he was so happy to be back home. This community, his family, and friends meant so much to him. He loved his home, his heritage, the outdoors and especially hunting. He had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Those who knew him knew him to be a good man. He was loved by many friends and family.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday (March 19, 2018) in the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday (March 18, 2018) after 1:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, Mo. 63561.
