Elizabeth "Betty" Amelia Lewis

Elizabeth “Betty” Amelia (McKinley) Lewis, age 88, of Unionville, Missouri passed away on June 29 th , 2019 at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital.

Betty was born August 1 st , 1930 in St Louis, Missouri the daughter of Albert and Marie (Hoffman) McKinley. She grew up on a farm near Novinger and graduated from Novinger (Missouri) High School.

On March 5 th , 1950 she was united in marriage to Adrian E. Lewis and he preceded her in death on February 21 st , 2016. To this union were three children who are surviving, David Lewis (Diana), Ellen Gordon (Tom McDonald), and Connie Michael (Nick) all of rural Putnam County. In the early years of their marriage Betty and Adrian lived on a farm in rural Adair County. In 1961 they moved to what is now the Lewis Family Century Farm in southeast Putnam County.

Betty dedicated her life as a wife, mother, certified nursing assistant, and grandmother, living in Putnam County for over fifty-eight years. She was a past member of the Novinger P.E.O., an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan, and attended Parkview Church of Christ in Unionville, Missouri until her health declined.

Betty, is also survived by six grandchildren: Josh Rennells (Tanya) Pennsburg, PA, Mike Rennells (LaCosta) Columbia, MO, Tanner Michael (Kate) Unionville, MO, Linda Lewis Kirksville, MO, Teresa Pothier (Jade) Kearney, MO and Dustin Gordon Ankeny, IA. She is survived by ten great grandchildren: Willem Rennells, Chandler Rennells, Hillary Rennells, Collin Rennells, Adrian Rennells, Addison Rennells, Luke Rennells, Devin Lewis, Parker Pothier and Oliva Pothier.

Memorial’s in Betty’s honor can be made to the Lone Pine Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.

Graveside Services for Betty will be at the Lone Pine Cemetery, near Martinstown, MO on Tuesday, July 2 nd , 2019 at 11:00am.
