Elizabeth Marie Piper 

(January 18, 1926 - September 2, 2024)

Elizabeth Piper, of Kirksville, MO passed away Monday September 2, 2024 at the Kirksville Manor Care Center. 

Elizabeth Marie Howard was born January 18, 1926 in Pollock, MO to Beulah and Gilbert Howard. She graduated from Kirksville High School in 1944. While still in high school, she began a five-decade-long career as an X-ray technician with Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, MO.  

She married Glen Richard (G.R.) Piper, deceased, in 1946 and had two children, a son, Jeffrey, and a daughter, Jennifer. 

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Doris Daines and Marcella Obermeier. Elizabeth now joins, in heaven, her long-time friend V. Wayne Lehr. 

Elizabeth is survived by her children Jeffrey Scott Piper of Albuquerque, NM and Jennifer Williams [B.T.] of Blue Springs, MO; granddaughter Brooke Szabo [Kyle] of Ft. Meyers, FL; granddaughter Beth Jansen [Joseph] of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter Alaska (Laura) Piper [Casey O’Keefe] of Albuquerque, NM; grandson Michael Piper of Brooklyn, NY; great granddaughters Nylah and Evie Szabo of Ft. Meyers, FL; sisters Betty Hammond and Claudia Davis of Grinnell, IA; brother Larry Howard of Newton, IA along with many nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
