Ellen Lee Wilhite, 84 of Kirksville passed away Monday, June 21 st , 2021 at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of Clifton and Vanda (Preston) Monroe, she was born November 3, 1936 in Kirksville, Missouri. On November 6, 1954 in Kirksville she was united in marriage to Verlin Wilhite.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Verlin; three sons, Daniel Wilhite and wife Julia of Eldon, MO, Darrel Wilhite of LaPlata, MO and Gerald Wilhite of Eldon, MO and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Wilhite and two daughters, Debra Price and Judy Wilhite.
Ellen grew up in Kirksville and graduated from the Kirksville High School in 1954. Ellen and Verlin meet in grade school at Greenwood School. She worked a short time at Laughlin Hospital and in the lunch program at Willard School. She also sold Avon. She then stayed at home and raised her children.
She attended the United Methodist Reform Church in Millard. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, camping, traveling and taking care of her two dogs.
There will be a private family graveside service. Entombment will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery Mausoleum.
