Everett Ray Boltz, 78 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The son of Emmett and Lola (Bergman) Boltz, he was born October 7, 1943 in Winchester, Missouri. On June 24, 1979 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Celesta Peterson.
Everett is survived by his wife, Celesta; one daughter, Amber Thompson and husband Aaron of Goldsboro, NC; three granddaughters, Haylee, Zoey and Audrey; one brother, Emmett Boltz Jr. of Ft. Madison, IA; one sister, Marilyn Middleton of Centralia, MO; one brother-in-law, Kendall Peterson of LaPlata, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Evelyn Steffen.
Everett grew up in Kahoka, Missouri where he graduated High School in 1962. He lived in Quincy, Illinois where he worked with cars doing auto repair. He served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He ran the E&D Auto Sales in LaBelle, Missouri before moving to Kirksville where he worked for Heartland Auto Sales, Kirksville Auto Auction, Wal-Mart for a short time, and then drove cars for Lovegreen and Ratliff Reed Inc.
He was a big car enthusiast and enjoyed car shows, races and even drag raced when he was younger. He loved spending time with his granddaughters and going to ball games, especially when his daughter was a cheerleader.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2022 with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Hamilton Street Baptist Church.
