Francis Richard Schnoebelen

Francis R. Schnoebelen, 89 of Unionville, MO, died at the Kirksville Manor Care in Kirksville, MO, on Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Francis Richard Schnoebelen was born in Riverside, IA, on July 24, 1928, the son of Charles and Evelyn (Droll) Schnoebelen, who preceded him in death. He served his country for over 27 years in the United States Air Force and upon discharge he established his residence in the Quad Cities. He later moved to Unionville where he has lived the past 38 years.

The ones dear to him that he leaves behind are a very special friend, Donna Jones from Edina, MO; his siblings, Mick Hammer (Dale R.) and Dale Schnoebelen (Connie) of Iowa City, John E. Geers of Rantoul, Il; Darlene and Bill Maines of Pensacola, FL; Leo and Shirley Ruth of Solon, IA; step daughter-in-law, Sandy Canter and grandchildren, Lyndall Canter (Kathy), Vicki Hale (Chet), and Stacey Qualls (Joe), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Schnoebelen in 2001; step son, Victor Canter; brothers Jerry, Edwin and Verle Schnoebelen; and sisters, Lu Harland, Phyllis Ruth, and Alice Geers.

Francis was loved by many and will be missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Playle-Collins Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 17, 2018, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Rose Cemetery east of Unionville where military honors will be provided.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to PC Café & Resource Center or the Martinstown Fire Dept. and may be entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
