Faye Turner, 77, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, in the Schuyler County Nursing.
The daughter of Omar and Esther (Schmitter) Seamster she was born October 10, 1940, in rural Schuyler County. She grew up in rural Schuyler County and attended first grade at the Charity Rural School and attended second through eighth grades at Middle Fabius rural school. She graduated from the Downing High School as valedictorian with the class of 1958.
Faye attended KSTC (now Truman university) graduating in 1962. Later she earned a master's degree in Education and taught High School Business Classes mostly in Winsor High School where she retired after thirty years.
On November 1, 1979, in Colorado she was united in marriage to Mike Olen Turner. She and Mike adopted four children who were brothers and sisters: Wanda, Rex, Harry, and Bernice.
Faye is survived by her husband Mike, children Rex Turner, Harry Turner and wife Gloria, and Bernice Aldridge and husband Billy. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two sisters Linda Gordy and husband Lowell and Betty Thompson and husband John, one brother Robert Seamster and several cousins.
She was preceeded in death by her parents and one daughter Wanda Holt.
She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Queen City. While living in Winsor she attended the Calvery Baptist Church.
Faye did a lot of work in family geneaology and donated several of her records to the Schuyler County Historical Society and the Lancaster Library.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday (July 9, 2018) in the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will be in the Campground Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mikel Aldridge, Joey Aldridge, Jaccob Turner, Anthony Holt, Christian Turner, and Kelly Gordy.
Visitation will be Monday (July 9, 2018) from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m in the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City Missouri 63561.
