George Clinkenbeard, 86, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Saturday, December 26, 2020. He had lived in that home since he was three years old.
George Edward Clinkenbeard was born in rural Mendota, Missouri, on December 28, 1933, the son of Oscar and Bessie (Mullins) Clinkenbeard. He was united in marriage to Margie Terry in Milan, Missouri, on February 1, 1958. Two sons were born to his union: George and Terry.
George is survived by his wife and son Terry (TerriLynn) Clinkenbeard, both of Unionville. His grandchildren are Kristina (Bobby)Thompson, Daniel Clinkenbeard, Cole (Amanda) Clinkenbeard, and Zach Clinkenbeard. George’s great granddaughters are Abby Clinkenbeard, Hailey Clinkenbeard, Maci Clinkenbeard, and Laney Clinkenbeard. His great grandson is Sidiney Price and his great-great granddaughter is Madalian. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Ray and Marie Terry, his son George Ray and George Ray’s wife Marcia. He was also preceded in death by brothers Alonzo (Iris) Clinkenbeard, Wilbert (Gracie) Clinkenbeard, Gene (Thelma) Clinkenbeard, and Leslie (Elaine) Clinkenbeard, as well as sisters Leatha (Clyde) Campbell, Polly (Siel) McDannald, Grace (Alvin) Cullum, Mae (Bob) Smith, and Mary Clinkenbeard.
George served his country in the United States Navy.
Graveside services for George Clinkenbeard were held at the Pherigo Cemetery in Putnam County, Missouri, on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. Howard Luscan conducted the service.
