Gladys Demry, 87, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. She had been a patient there for about two weeks.
Gladys Jean Carson was born in Unionville, MO, on May 27, 1931, the daughter of Jarret Branden and Una Bell (Cotton) Carson, who preceded her in death. She was reared in Unionville and graduated from Unionville High School. Gladys was a life-long resident of Unionville. She worked a number of years at McGraw-Edison in Centerville, IA, and provided care for the elderly in their home after her retirement. Gladys liked to work outside and loved to do yard work, especially with her flowers. She had a pleasant smile and caring personality. She liked to knit house slippers and pot holders to give away.
Gladys is survived by a son, David Bradshaw, of Unionville, MO, and three grandchildren; Robert Bradshaw, Jamie Bowker, and Matthew Ehrlich. She is also survived by her brother, Lee (Shirley) Carson of Centerville, IA; and her three sisters, Roberta (Robert) Brown of Independence, MO, Judith Hopkins of Ottumwa, IA, and Anna (Hank) Morris of Cedar Falls, IA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gladys was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Ehrlich; a brother, Jim Carson; and a sister, Una Mae Bunnell.
A private graveside service for Gladys is planned at a later date. Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
