Glen Casady

Glen W. Casady Jr. 73 of Kirksville passed away Thursday (November 23, 2017) at Kirksville Manor Care Center.

The son of Glen W. and Helen L. (Prough) Casady Sr., he was born June 12, 1944 in Kirksville, MO. On October 9, 1967 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Bonita R. Hartsock.

Glen is survived by two sons, Jeff Casady of Republic, MO and Greg Casady of Kirksville; two daughters, Darla Collop of Kirksville and Kimberly Brown of Springfield, MO; eight grandchildren, Zackery Casady, Chelsey Collop, Chelsea Casady, Ashley Collop, Cheyanna Cantrell, Ryan Casady, Haley Casady and Harley William Casady; one brother, Ronnie Casady and wife Sharon of Corpus Christi, TX; one sister, Connie Nichols and husband Terry of Oklahoma City, OK; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Jimmy Dick Guile.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonita; one grandson, Joseph Collop and one sister, Dexie Casady.

Glen grew up and attended school in Kirksville. He spent his working life as an owner and operator of several bars in Kirksville and also run other business, including Northeast Missouri Trenching. He greatly enjoyed his family.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday (December 2, 2017) with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Virgil Jones officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Casady, Zackery Casady, Danny Mahurin, Brad Gunnels, Marty Haynes, and Dale Carvitto. Honorary Bearers will by James Gardner, Dick Long, Bobby Hartsock, Bobby Russell, Jerry Bunch, an Jerry Russell.
