Glennis Eileen (Stull) Baldwin, 91, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville on Tuesday, January 11 th , 2022.
Glennis E. Baldwin was born in Kirksville, MO on September 23 rd , 1930, the daughter of Glenn and Faye (Husted) Stull who preceded her in death. She was reared in rural Putnam County.
On April 27 th , 1948, Glennis married Howard Baldwin. Glennis went on to graduate from Livonia, MO, High School in May. After graduation she moved to join Howard in Oklahoma where he was stationed in the U.S. Army. Howard and Glennis moved to Ottumwa, IA, in 1952 and in 1969 Glennis began working for Deere Employee Federal Credit Union where she later retired. In her younger years, Glennis and Howard fostered 18 newborn babies over 8 years for the American Home Finding in Ottumwa. Together they took several trail rides and enjoyed going to Eminence, MO, often. Glennis was a long-time member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Chariton, MO, where she attended with her family. She also attended Northgate Alliance Church while living in Ottumwa. Glennis loved to garden, flowers especially, bird watch, and burn brush.
Glennis is survived by her three children Galen (Connie) Baldwin of Livonia, MO; Glenda (Roger) Weirbach of Ottumwa, IA; and Garnet Scobee of Unionville, MO. Glennis’s surviving grandchildren are Zachary (Jennifer) Stout, Clint (Mika) Weirbach, Danyle (Jeremy) Riley, Caleb Stout, Heather Hulsey, and Gail Scobee. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Louise Mikels of Unionville, MO; and a daughter at heart, Mitzie Knight; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving husband of 70 years, Howard Baldwin, Glennis was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Garold Scobee and a grandson, Lon Slycord.
Funeral services for Glennis will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Friday, January 14. 2020. Visitation will be Thursday, January 13, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Interment will be at the Martinstown Cemetery.
Memorials for Glennis should be made payable to the Martinstown Cemetery and may be entrusted to Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27 th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
