Gregory Scott Casady, 54 of Kirksville passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the LaPlata Nursing Home.
The son of Glen W. and Bonita R. (Hartsock) Casady, he was born January 28, 1969 in Kirksville, Missouri.
Greg is survived by one son, Ryan Casady and wife Darian of Kirksville; three grandchildren, Briley, Karter and Jaxon Casady; one brother, Jeff Casady of Republic, MO; two sisters, Darla Collop of Kirksville and Kim Brown of Springfield, MO; seven nieces and nephews, Chelsey and Ashley Collop, Chelsea Casady, Chey Cantrell, Zack Casady, Haley and Harley Casady; aunts and uncles, Nancy Ross of Lees Summit, MO, Ronnie & Sharon Casady of Corpus Christi, TX and Connie & Terry Nickel of Oklahoma City, OK and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Bonita Casady; grandparents, Walter and Betty Hartsock, Johnny Casady, and Helen Bulin; and one nephew, Joseph Collop.
Greg grew up in Kirksville, attended Kirksville Schools and graduated Kirksville High School in 1987. Greg was very athletic and enjoyed speed skating and dirt bikes. He worked construction most of his life. Greg had a heart of gold, was friends with everyone and would help anyone he could. His pride and joy was his son and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. A graveside service and interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Green City, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
