Harl Eugene Buckallew passed away in his home in Kirksville, Missouri on March 24, 2025. He was born August 25, 1940, in Putman Co. Mo. to Cecil Raymond Buckallew and Edna (Clay) Lay.
In 1959 he was married to Barbara Eileen Webber. There were three children born to this union. Alan Eugene Buckallew, Jeffrey Dean Buckallew and Brenda Denise Deichsel. In 2006 he married Linda Lee Terrell.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eileen, son Alan, granddaughter Stacey Gooden, brother Herbert Buckallew, sister Valee Hoffner and his parents.
He is survived by his wife Linda, children Jeff & Brenda Buckallew and Brenda & Juergen Deichel. 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. His twin brother, Darl & Leanna Buckallew and sister Marie & John Tuttle.
Harl attended high school in Unionville, Mo. and started his career at the young age of 14 when he went to Kansas to work in the wheat fields. He started in the construction business working for his uncle Eddy Buckallew, building houses in Kirksville. He spent 37 years working for McCarthy Bros, traveling and living all over the United States, working his way up to Project Manager over building hospitals and parking garages. Between construction projects he farmed, sold grain bins and drove a semi-truck.
His favorite pastimes were hunting, working on the farm, watching old westerns on tv, riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends. The last few years he always said the best part of his week was playing cards every Sunday with Mike and Donna O’Brien.
A celebration of Life will be held in the family home on East Harrison Street in Kirksville on Saturday afternoon, March 29, starting at 2:00.
