Louise Maring

Louise Maring, 93, of Powersville, MO, passed away at her home in the company of her two sons on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. She had been in declining health the past year.

Helen Louise (McCollom) Maring was born in Sullivan County, MO, on February 28, 1925, the daughter of Guy and Nellie (Scott) McCollom, who preceded her in death. She was reared in Sullivan County and graduated from Newton High School in 1943. She worked for the Harris Bank until she met and married Earl Dean Maring on October 15, 1955. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2010.

Louise became a stay-at-home mom and homemaker with the birth of her two sons, Gary and Kelly. She love to sew and grow flowers and can produce from her large garden. She was also a wonderful cook and always had pies and cinnamon rolls available for family. Louise went to work in the accounting department of Neely Mfg. when her boys were in high school and worked there for 25 years. She also helped with the family gas service and convenience store in Powersville and continued to do so after retirement from Neely. Louise will be remembered as a loving and caring person who was “everybody’s mother.” She had a deep concern for friends and loved ones. Louise was a member of the Eastern Star in Powersville and of the Newtown Christian Church in Newtown, MO.

Louise is survived by her two sons, Gary Maring of Powersville, MO, and Kelly Maring of Lucerne, MO (and his former wife Julie). She is also survived by three grandchildren, Troy Maring & wife Nikki and their two children, Makenna & Makayla Maring, Tyson and companion Emily Riley and his son Watson Maring; and Trisha Maring; two step-grandchildren, Carissa Cobb and her four children; and Levi Trimble and his two children; a sister, Twyla Miller, of Ravana, MO; and three sisters-in-law, Betty Maring, Betty Ballard, and Ann McCollom.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her brother, Dean McCollom.

Funeral services for Louise Maring will be held at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 25, 2018, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Powersville Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the family and may be entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
