She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2011, two brothers Willie O’Brien in 1919 and Leland James O’Brien in 2007 and an infant son, Donald Howard Terrell, in 1961.
Inez lived most of her life just east of Sperry, Missouri. Until she moved to Kirksville in 2011, she had only lived in three houses, all within two miles of the farm where she was born and raised, which was the farm her mother also grew up on. In 1950 Howard and Inez bought the farm they lived on for the next 61 years. Inez loved working outside where she put out an acre of garden and mowed acres and acres of grass. She also worked at JC Penney for a number of years. She loved to play cards and feed people. She had to always be busy. A favorite pass time was to travel in their motor home to a good fishing hole. Inez would wade right into the river, catch a fish and then cook it, after Howard cleaned it.
She was a life long member of the Bethel Community Church. Where she was always first to volunteer to do whatever was needed, teaching bible school, cooking food, cleaning the church or housing visiting ministers. She also belonged to the Sperry O. A. O. ladies club where she served as president for many years and was a long time treasurer of the Bethel Cemetery Board.
Inez attended grade school in the one room country school at Sperry and graduated from Kirksville High School.
