Ira “Bud” Clovis Niccum, 88 of Kirksville, MO passed away Monday (June 3rd, 2024) at La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, MO.
The son of Robert and Lola (McCoy) Niccum, Bud was born December 3rd, 1935 in Wayne County, IL. On July 12th, 1958 in Quincy, IL, he was united in marriage to Pearl Arlene Sprinkle.
Bud is survived by his children, Carroll Niccum, Jack Niccum, Tammy Dodsworth and husband Kevin, and Janet McFadden and husband David; 8 Grandchildren; and 13 Great Grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Pearl Arlene; siblings, Ray Niccum, Robert Niccum, Hazel Thomas, Vera Shcerader, Dwight Niccum, Llyod Niccum, Maxine Curry, Opal Halterman, and Elizabeth Exam.
Bud was raised in Wayne County, IL where he attended Round Priaren School. He moved to Arizona for a few years before moving back to Quincy. In 1971, he moved to Kirksville where he worked at Donaldsons, Kirksville Christian High School, the Food Barn, and Kirksville R-III schools where he retired. Bud liked to garden. He was a piddler and a jack of all trades.
The Funeral service will be Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Playle-Rimer-Millard Funeral Chapels in Kirksville, MO with Reverend Ralph Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hills Cemetery. A Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
