Irvin Lee Roy Turpitt Sr

Irvin Lee Roy Turpitt Sr. of Queen City, MO, passed away at Northeast Regional Hospital on Friday, October 11, 2024. Irvin was born on December 29, 1940 in Gordon, Nebraska. He is the son of Orval and Dorothy Craig of Nebraska. Irvin was later adopted by his maternal grandparents Henry and Minnie Turpitt. 

Irvin joined the Army in 1958. He served his time stationed in Korea. He was honorably discharged in May 1960. Irvin always said he was a jack of all trades and master of none. He was a horse groomer on the race track, a factory worker, construction of all kinds and a coal miner before retiring to Queen City, MO.

Irvin is survived by his seven children, Irvin Turpitt Jr., David Turpitt Sr., Charles Turpitt Sr., Kathleen and her husband Mark Hall, Christina and her husband Fernando Pena, Christopher Turpitt Sr., and Tracy and her husband Tony Young. Also survived by 26 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Irvin was surrounded by loved ones as he went to Heaven. Those include Kathleen & Mark Hall, Amy & Ian Pittman, Johanna, Paul & Kaden Coombs, Lillian, Bradley & Daxton Hubbartt, Jon & Meagan Hall, Tabitha Turpitt & Family and Jessica Blackorby.

Irvin was a great father, grandfather and GG. He will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held.
