James E. Findling age 81, of Kirksville, MO passed away Friday, May 4, 2018, at the La Plata Nursing Home in LaPlata, MO.
The son of Lathan C. and Verlie (Summers) Findling, Jim was born February 10, 1937 in Kirksville, MO. On November 12, 1957 he was united in marriage to Carol B. Sullivan who preceded him in death on August 23, 2017.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; granddaughter, Racheal Findling; brother, Lenard Findling; sister-in-law, Adilee Findling and a great-grandson, Bently Speeks.
He is survived by his four children,
Sandy Sizemore and husband, Rick of Brashear, MO,
Judy Stewart and special friend, Randy of Brashear, MO,
Brenda Sizemore and husband, Roger of Greentop, MO and
Jimmy Findling and special friend, Tammy of Kirksville, MO; eleven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was reared in Kirksville, MO where he received his education in the Porter School. He owned a truck and ran a milk route. Later he owned and ran City Cab Company for a few years. He also had his own mail route, hauling mail for 20 years. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Darrell Draper officiating. Musical selections will be “King of the Road” and “Phantom 309”. Burial will be in the Jewell Cemetery in Adair County, MO.
Pallbearers will be J. R. Findling Andrew Findling, Timmy Sizemore, Derek Sizemore, Jerid Sayer and Nathan McKIm.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday evening, May 7, 2018, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
