James "Jim" Fredrick Lasher, 59 of Knox City, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in his home.
The son of James Edward and Shirley Ann (MacKenzie) Lasher, he was born January 24, 1963 in Stoughton, Massachusetts.
Jim is survived by his mother, Shirley Lakin of California; his children, Rachel Lasher of Green City, MO, Jessica Lasher of Kirksville, MO, Amber Lasher of Pensacola, FL, Travis Thacker of Quincy, IL, Jessica Marberry of Kirksville, MO, Christopher Thacker of Quincy, IL, Erin Protsman of Kahoka, MO, Masson Kurk of Kirksville, MO and Tonya Bueno of Palmyra, MO. Special Friend, Shirley Ives of Kirksville, MO, one brother Michael Lasher of California; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents and one son, Daniel Lasher and one step son, Christopher Bueno.
Jim attended San Marcos High School in California. In his younger years, Jim enjoyed dirt bikes and playing hockey. As he grew older, he developed a deep appreciation and love for cars. In 2007, Jim decided to turn his passion into his career and opened Jim's Auto Repair in Knox City, MO. Jim passed on his knowledge and passion to each of his children with their first car. He was known for leading with his heart and knew no stranger. This way of living led him to become a mentor to so many and assisted in their recovery journey which also strengthened his love for Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Assembly of God church in Knox City where he also served as Deacon. Jim also served his community as an alderman for Knox City. Jim enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and faithful companion Bruce Wilson.
Visitation will be from 4:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. Friday, March 18th, 2022 with a memorial service immediately following at 5:00p.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
