Born on June 15, 1940, in Kirksville, Missouri, James spent his early years in Novinger, Missouri, where he attended school and began forming the childhood stories that would later become cherished memories shared with family and friends.
James enjoyed a fulfilling career as a truck driver, a role that allowed him to traverse the open roads while immersing himself in his passion for classic automobiles by selling old cars. His love for boating and traveling to Las Vegas provided him with vibrant experiences that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.
A man of great personality, James was renowned for making people laugh and for his unparalleled storytelling ability. His tales brought joy to gatherings and will be fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of hearing them. He was a wonderful man whose presence lit up rooms and whose laughter was a comforting melody to his loved ones.
James is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda Madden, alongside his cherished grandchildren: Holly Minns; Eric Meadows; Annie and Cody; Daniel Dakota Harrelson; Nicholas Harrelson; Alissa Harrelson; Elijah Harrelson; Jacob Harrelson; and Ellie Harrelson. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Douglas Todd Madden; his daughter, Robin Lynn Lane; and his parents, James and Juanita Madden. James’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew him.
