Janie Sparks

http://videos.lifetributes.com/837921   Janie Sparks, 69, of Kirksville passed away Friday (September 29, 2017) at her home.    The daughter of Leo Francis and Mary Margaret (Knaack) Petree she was born August 4, 1948 in Kirksville, MO. On October 20, 1966 in Camp Pendleton, CA she was united in marriage to Preston Sparks.    Janie is survived by her husband, Preston; one son, Todd Sparks and wife Jamie of Kirksville; one daughter, Tracy Russell and her husband Randy of Overland Park, KS; 4 grandchildren, Jordyn and Tanner Sparks, Jake and Caden Russell; one brother, Ronnie Petree and wife Carol of Kirksville; one nephew, Bryan Petree of Kirksville, and one niece, Jana Hyman and her husband Rick Hyman of Orlando, FL.    She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janice L. Trueblood.    Janie graduated from Kirksville High School with the class of 1966. She worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell. She then stayed at home to raise her children. In 1981 Janie and Preston started Sparks Constructors which continues to operate today.    She was a member of the Mother's Home Club and Beta Sigma Phi in Kirksville. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and friends. She also greatly enjoyed her card group    Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday (October 7, 2017) with the funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery.   Memorials in memory of Janie are suggested to the Shriner's Hospital.
