Jean Ann Sidwell

Jean Ann Sidwell, 76 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the LaPlata Nursing Home.

The daughter of Eugene and Mary Louise (Schmitter) Webster, she was born April 16, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri. On May 19, 1965 in Queen City, Missouri she was united in marriage to Dennis Sidwell.

Jean Ann is survived by her husband, Dennis; two daughters, Sheila (Aaron) Drebes of Palmyra, MO and Stephanie (Chris) Frandsen of Ozark, MO; four grandchildren, Jordan Frandsen, Dylan Frandsen, Christian Drebes and Emmalee Drebes; one great grandson, Carson Frandsen; one brother, Larry (Patty) Webster of Glenwood, MO; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Garry Webster.

Jean Ann grew up in Glenwood, where she attended grade school. She graduated from the Queen City High School in 1965. While in high school she played basketball and sang. She was the Queen of the Hot Dog Days in Ottumwa, Iowa. She worked at Wheelers Greenhouse and then Standard Register until she retired.

She was a member of Kirksville Saddle Club, First United Methodist Church, El Kadir Jewels, and a 50 year member of Chapter G, P.E.O. and Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, sewing, quilting, birds and loved to sing. She loved her grandchildren and was a friend to all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.

Memorials in memory of Jean Ann are suggested to the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.
