Joan Herrmann, 86 passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the LaPlata Nursing Home.
The daughter of Thomas and Anna (Mitchell) McKemey, she was born November 9, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was raised in Philadelphia, attended St. Monica Catholic School and graduated from South Philadelphia High School. She moved to Hannibal and then to St. Louis where she worked as a secretary for American Home Patient until she retired. She moved to Kirksville in 2012 to be close to her daughter.
She enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball.
Joan is survived by her children, Lisa (Alan) Rosenburg of St. Charles, MO, Diane Shaver (David Mitchell) of Brashear, MO, Lori Wilmas of Maryland Heights, MO, Charles Jr. (Kim) Herrmann of Valrico, Fl, John Werner of Brashear, MO, and Matthew (Nicole) Herrmann of St. Louis, MO; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer banes (David Watkins), Michael (Lindsey) Rosenburg, Nathan Shaver (Ashley Brandes), Monika (Dillon) Poston, Logan Wilmas (Evan Wlaker), Jared Wilmas (Abby Twyman), Jeremy (Danielle) Herrmann, Ashley (Cory) Valencia, Tara Herrmann (Kent Helling), Sara Herrmann, and Tony Huggins; several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jimmy McKemey; one grandson, Cory Shaver and a son-in-law, Robert Wilmas.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. with a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. at the Brashear Cemetery in Brashear, Missouri.
