Joe Junior Groseclose 69, of Lancaster, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (March 23, 2022) in the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
The son of Joe Edward (Razz) and Martha Darlene “Granny” (Lambert) Groseclose he was born March 11, 1953, in Kirksville, Missouri.
Joe grew up on a farm between Lancaster and Downing with two older sisters, Doris and Pixie, and two younger brothers George and Thomas.
He graduated from the Lancaster High School with the class of 1971 where he was an avid basketball and baseball player,
On August 8, 1975. he was united in marriage to Karon Eakins who survives. He is also survived by three children Michelle Ferdig of Queen City, Mo., David Steen of Montana, and Amanda Cuculich of Glenwood, Mo. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Remington Steen, Seth (Belle) Groseclose, Brody Cuculich, Dalton (Katy) Cuculich, Colton Cuculich, Angela (Lee) Lynch, Heather Ferdig, Samantha Ferdig (Zac Kimmel), Matthew (Elizibeth) Ferdig, thirteen great-grandchildren, sisters Doris Oliver of Edina, Missouri, and Pixie (Raymond) Garrett of Orion, Illinois.. He is also survived by an Aunt Jerilee Beeler an Uncle Floyd Lambert and several nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers George and Thomas, a niece Debbie Vansgrinsven and two great grandchildren Levi and Liam Ferdig.
Joes greatest joys were watching his grandchildren play hard, listening to coon dogs tree, and coyote hunters chase. His favorite hang-outs were Cousins coffee table and Bosco's card table. He took great pride in his career working for the City of Lancaster. He was also secretary of the Fabius Cemetery.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p m Wednesday (March 30, 2022) at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster , Mo., with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a m on Tuesday (March 29, 2022) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dooley Funeral Home Queen Cilty, Mo.
Memorials are suggested to Fabius Cemetery.
