John W. Wood

John W. Wood, 62 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (September 26, 2018) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The son of William and Ellmary (Mossbarger) Wood, he was born October 19, 1955 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was a graduate of Kirksville High School. He served in the United States Army from July 15, 1977 until his discharge on November 14, 1980. He then served several years in the Army Reserves. He lived most of his life in the Kirksville area where he worked varies jobs.

John is survived by one brother, Robert Wood and wife Helen of Alamagordo, NM; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Wood of Lubbock, TX and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Wood Jr. and Richard Wood; and one sister, Ellmary Fox.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday (September 28, 2018) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with a Rosary at 8:00 p.m..

Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
