Joyce Lee Hilderman 76, passed away Sunday (October 30, 2022) at her home in Livonia, Missouri.
The first of eight children born to Emmett Ellis and Edith (Dorman) Ray, she was born June 11, 1946 at St, Mary’s Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
Joyce was united in marriage to Floyd Hilderman on January 18, 1962 in Kirksville, Missouri, where she had grown up and attended school.
They moved to South Beloit, Wisconsin, where she was a cook at several different places. They then moved to Rockton, Illinois, where she worked at a Safeway Gas Co. and later at Warner Clutch and Brake Company,
In 1979, they moved to Livonia, Missouri, where she raised her family of two children.
She is survived by her son Jerry and wife JoAnn Hilderman, daughter Robin Stewart, brothers Emmitt Ray, Buster Ray, and Hollie Jo Ray, and sister Mickey Rice. She is also survived by several grandchildren, Jerry Lee (Desiree) Hilderman, Dustin Partin, Ryan (Michelle) Hilderman, Tyler Hilderman, Brian (Amanda) Hilderman, April Eiler & Spencer Jacques, and Jenny Fowlkes and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents Emmett and Edith Ray, a son Tracy Lee, and two sisters, Kathy Wright and Connie Dierking.
Joyce enjoyed gardening, making her yard beautiful, and spending time with family. She loved to cook, and can things from her garden. She loved being outside, camping, and fishing. She was a hard worker at home and at her jobs.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday November 3, 2022, at the Dooley Funeral Home with Graveside services following at the Rose Cemetery west of Worthington, with Pastor Virgil Jones officiating.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Ryan Hilderman, Michelle Hilderman, Jerry Hilderman, Desiree Hilderman, Brian Hilderman, and April Eiler.
