Juanita Cooley

Juanita Cooley, 94, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville, MO, where she had been a resident for eight years.

Juanita (Pauley) Cooley was born at home, west of Powersville, Mo, on July 7, 1925, the daughter of Walter A. and Cleva B. (Snider) Pauley. Juanita was the youngest of six children, all of whom are deceased: Damon, Ben (Harold), Ralph, Coy, and infant sister, Cleo Mae. Juanita married Melvyn Herschel Cooley on December 25, 1943, at the Unionville Christian Church. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2003. Juanita and Herschel had two children, Shirley (Finis) Watt of Unionville, MO, and Jack (Dixie) Cooley of Lucerne, MO.

Juanita and Herschel farmed their entire life southeast of Lucerne and raised cow/calf pair, with which Juanita took great pride in helping. She loved animals and took great care of them. Later, Juanita and Herschel built a home in Unionville and retired there. They spent many winters in Brownsville, TX. Juanita was baptized as a young person and was a member of the Unionville First Christian Church.

Juanita is survived by her children; six grandchildren, Sharla Watt Keith of Georgia, Natalie (Brian) Flood of Ohio, Jeremy (Haley) Watt of Unionville, Amanda (David Thomas) Watt, of Oregon, Janelle (John) Hepler of Browning, MO; and Jamie (Brandon) Lynch of Green City, MO; and fourteen great grandchildren: Joey Hepler, Jaclyn Hepler, Judd Hepler, Madelyn Lynch, Meredith Lynch, Max Lynch, Jacob (Nicolette) Flood, Joshua Flood, Kaitlyn Keith, Kathryn Keith, Boaz Watt, Jude Watt, Angstrom Watt, and Gus Crelin. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law: Crystal Cooley, Lucerne, Evelyn Cooley of Unionville, and Evelyn Pauley of Ohio.

Funeral Services for Juanita Cooley will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 11, 2019, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Lucerne Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Unionville First Christian Church are may be entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
