Kathryn Gramling

December 13, 1939 — August 10, 2024

Kathryn “Anne” Gramling, age 84, peacefully entered eternal rest on Aug 10, 2024 in Kirksville, Missouri.

She was born to Leo and Louise Widmer on Dec 13, 1939 in Salisbury, Missouri. Anne grew up with a great love for her Lord, Jesus Christ, and later coupled that with a degree in education which paved the way for many fulfilling years of teaching at private grade schools and finally retiring from a small public school that she loved just as much. She was known for making her colleagues her second family, celebrating their triumphs and supporting their trials right alongside them.

She also deeply loved her own family and was thrilled when she became a Grandma. She will be remembered for her warm compassion extended to all who knew her. Before the life altering stroke she suffered in 2021, Anne enjoyed her retirement years by playing cards with close friends, working crossword puzzles, baking sweets, and her love of reading would sometimes keep her up all night long.

She is fondly remembered by her only daughter Melissa, two grandchildren Zachary and Stella, one brother Bob (Lillian) Widmer, one brother-in- law Steve (Marla) Gramling and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Gramling, her mother and father, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill Widmer and John and Joan Widmer along with one nephew Brian Widmer and one niece Kristi Widmer.

Services will be held at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church at a date not yet known.

Funeral arrangements in the care of Playle-Rimer-Millard Family Funeral Chapel.
