Katy Rich

August 19, 1987 — May 17, 2024

Kathryn (Katy) Anne Rich, born on August 19, 1987, in Bryan, Texas, went home to her Heavenly Father on May 17, 2024, in Springfield, MO, surrounded by her loved ones.

Katy, as she was affectionately known, touched the lives of many with her vibrant spirit.

In 2006 Katy graduated from Logan-Rogersville High School and spent many years working for Prime Trucking. Last year, she expanded her skills by obtaining her real estate license and found fulfillment in helping others find their dream homes at Century Realty in Marshfield, Missouri.

On August 22, 2009, Katy exchanged vows with the love of her life, Ben Rich, in a ceremony filled with laughter and promises of forever. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with two sons, Boone (7) and Reed (4), who were the lights of her life.

Katy found solace in the outdoors. She and Ben shared a passion for deer hunting and made many unforgettable memories. One of her proudest moments came in 2021 when she outdid everyone, even Ben, by bagging the largest buck (10 points) and two does during deer season. She filled all three hunting permits, a feat she often reminded Ben of.

Katy’s adventurous spirit knew no bounds, and she fearlessly embraced challenges. She cherished time spent at her grandparents' farm. It was her happy place.

Katy leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ben, and their cherished sons, Boone and Reed; her loving parents, Chris and Linda Van O’Linda; her siblings, Brittaney Bandfield and her husband Clint, Calvin Van O’Linda and his wife Carmen, her twin brother, Jesse Van O’Linda and Emily Rapp; her maternal grandmother, Theresa Hewitt of Greentop; her nieces, Madeline Sterling, Cambryn Van O’ Linda, and Clara Mae Bandfield; her nephews, Jacob Bandfield, Jackson Sterling, Cason Van O’Linda, and Cord Van O’Linda; her uncle, Roy “Buzz” Hewitt of Greentop; her aunts, Barb Goettsch and her husband Greg of Colorado, Cherie Seipel and her husband Michael of Callao, Venessa Grimmett of Florida; and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her aunt, Pam Hewitt Carter, her maternal grandpa, Roy Hewitt, and her paternal grandparents, Jim and Marty Wadlin.

In the hearts of those who knew her, Katy's vivacious spirit will continue to live on in her family and the memories she created with them. Rest in peace, dear Katy, as you embark on your next great adventure.
