Kaylynn Janet Potter, 10 years old, of Kirksville, MO passed away on July 14th, 2017.
Kaylynn was born on August 19th, 2006 in Memphis, MO to Jennifer L. Gillen and Jackie Lee Potter of Kirksville, MO.
She is survived by both parents, step-mother, Shannon Potter of Kirksville, three brothers, Ethan Potter, Daiman Gillen-Potter, and Isaih Potter all of Kirksville, three sisters. Reagan Potter, Gracie Potter, and Autumn Potter of Kirksville, grandparents, Sandy & Gerold Lyons of Kirksville, grandmother, Loretta McFarland, grandmother, Anita Ann Adams of Amarillo, TX, grandparents, Jeff & Nikki Adams of Memphis, MO, aunts and uncles, Tony Schultz, Kenny (Lisa) Potter, Jamie (Tiffy) Potter, Janie Kay (Donald) Schultz, Jeffrey Adams Jr., and Robin Kester, and very special friend, Mary Ellen Koch of Kirksville.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Dewy Potter, sister, Leticia Potter, aunt, Toni Schultz and great-grandparents, James & Janet Kester, Mildred Ross, Harry Adams; great aunt and uncle, Janet and Larry Weekly.
Kaylynn was diagnosed with brain cancer in March of 2017. She had surgeries and radiation done in the hospitals in both Columbia and St. Louis. She loved music, horses, arts and crafts, hunting, fishing, rock collecting and her family. She was outspoken and loved to make people laugh. She was a 4th grader at Ray Miller and loved her teachers and special friends Ms. Koch & Kevin Brown. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday (July 20, 2017) at Fellowship Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Ownsby Cemetery in Kirksville.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the
