Kent Alan Troester, 75 of Kirksville passed away Friday morning, December 25, 2020 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
The son of Adelbert M. and Helen (Garth) Troester, he was born May 14, 1945 in Kirksville, Missouri. On August 16, 1970 in West Des Moines, Iowa he was united in marriage to Judith Anne Stroeber and she preceded him in death on October 10, 2003. On December 23, 2006 he was united in marriage to Ronda Turner.
Kent is survived by his wife, Ronda; one daughter, Kimberly Moore and husband John of Kirksville; three step children, Kendall Turner and wife Judi of Clive, IA, Brian Turner and wife Sharon of Columbia, MO, and Chris Turner and wife Erin of St. Charles, MO; one brother, Terry Troester and wife Dee of Sarasota, FL; one sister, Ann Riley and husband Randy of Kirksville; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Troester of Kirksville; two grandchildren, Abby and Anna Moore; eight step grandchildren, Ryan & Lori Turner, Alison and Justin Frette, Brennon & Nicole Turner, Landon Turner, Natalie Turner, Megan Turner, Chandler Davis, and Lauren and Kaleb Wulff; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; one brother, John Troester and his in-laws, Robert and Naomi Stroeber.
Kent grew up in Kirksville and graduated from Kirksville High School in 1963. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Northeast Missouri State University. Kent started working for the family clothing store, Troester’s Clothing, while in high school. He continued working at the store and later became a partner and worked until his retirement. During his time working at Troester’s, Kent loved helping and visiting with the customers.
Kent was a member of Kirksville Kiwanis Club, the Jaycee’s, Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce and was a faithful member of the Faith Lutheran Church, where he served on the Campus Board Ministry. He enjoyed traveling, walking and watching Cardinal baseball games. He greatly loved his family.
A private family funeral service will be held Tuesday at the Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.
