Leland Phillips, 90 passed away Tuesday (August 7, 2018) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center.
The son of Lon and Kate (Powers) Phillips, he was born June 11, 1928 in Chillicothe, MO. In November of 1948 in Utica, MO he was united in marriage to Goldie McCoy.
Leland is survived by one son, Ron Phillips and wife Suzanne of Kirksville, MO; three grandchildren, Tierney, Tyler and Drew; six great grandchildren, Talia, Braun, Taylor, Tannen, Clara and Levi; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie; his parents; one daughter, Becky Phillips; one grandson, Troy Phillips and 15 brothers and sisters.
Leland grew up in Chillicothe, MO and graduated from the Chillicothe High School. He went to work for the Milwaukee Railroad in the signal department where he worked for 20 years. He then worked for Westinghouse where he was Vice President of sales engineering; then for Safe Trans where he was the Executive Vice President for 6 years and then working for the U.S, government as a special agent in railroad electronics until he retired.
Leland enjoyed playing golf and sports. He played semi pro baseball in his youth for several years.
Leland will be cremated and services will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of
