Linda Louise Richmond-Mulford age 84 years, 5 months, 16 days departed her earthly dwelling to be with her Heavenly Father on July 7, 2023 concluding a brief stay at JCNH in Jefferson City, MO.
She was the eldest of three daughters to be born to David Charles King and Mildred Irene (Fogel) King. Linda was born on January 21, 1939 in Rockford, IL. At the age of 16, she meet Billy Dean Richmond to whom she was united in marriage on November 3, 1954 in Rockford. Shortly thereafter they returned to Billy’s birth area of Livonia, MO to start their lives together. To this union two children were born. After 47 years together Billy unexpectedly pass on August 16, 2002. Finding love again, she and Micheal Wayne Mulford were joined together in marriage on December 25, 2008 by family friend Judge Gary Lewis in Kirksville. Micheal also unexpectedly preceded her in death on January 27, 2019 at NRMC in Kirksville.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Debbie Louise Peterson-LeCuru and husband Mark, stepson, Justin Mulford; four granddaughters, Rachel Clark and husband Jason, MacKenzie Peterson and wife Jennifer, Brandi Richmond (Schulte), Ashlie Vincent and husband Grant, and one step granddaughter, Tanya Pleus and husband Alan. one sister, Janet Marie Mattson, one brother-in-law, Donald Hansen, 13 great-grandchildren and two step great-grandsons, nieces, Angie Bankert, Cathy Ward, Glenda Oliver, Lisa Preice and Cindy Fountain, nephews, Alan Hansen, Douglas Bankert, and David Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Dean Richmond (August 17, 2006), her parents, one sister, Caroline May Hansen, and in-laws, Noah and Lema Richmond, Rena and Orest Kent, Junior and Lois Richmond, Billie Mattson, step grandson, Kevin LeCuru, nephews, Larry and Gary (Shug) Colton, Roger Kent, nieces, Shirley Kent, Kathy Bockman, and Connie Lefler.
In the early 60’s the family moved to Queen City where they established several businesses. During that time she also worked at the glove factory and then Hollister’s where she retired in 2000.
Linda felt education was important so, she earned her GED while in her 40’s which was a proud accomplishment for her. She always liked to feel useful which lead her to return to work at George Ray Cancer Center, to join Senior Circle and volunteer at hospital’s information desk and gift shop. She was in The Red Hats, a birthday club, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans #48, and greeting clients at the Mulford Law Office, She enjoyed day trips or overnight stays with friend to see sights, plays, concerts, and collect tea pots. At home she loved cooking, crocheting, sewing, knitting, gardening, plants, and art.
We loved her giving spirit and the unique ways she found to give an individual and personal touch to all those she loved and befriended. She will be deeply missed.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 1:00 p.m. at the Dooley Funeral Home in Queen City. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.
