Linda Jolene Routh, a beloved housewife, passed away peacefully at Kirksville Manor Care on October 27, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on September 22, 1943, inksville, Missouri, Linda lived a life marked by love, resilience, and devotion to her family and passions.
Linda well-educated, being a proud high school graduate, and dedicated her life to raising her family. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Emma Newcomer, both of whom played a significant role in her upbringing. Throughout her life, Linda was married twice; her husbands Daniel Drummone and Walter Routh also preceded her in death.
Linda's heart was filled with love for her children. She is survived by her son, Richard Drummone, and her daughters, Jolene (Cecil) Carlyle of Greentop, Missouri, Kathy (Mark) Snell of Columbia, Missouri, and Shelly Salisberry of Green City, Missouri. She took immense joy in watching her family grow, being a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
As a person, Linda was known for her warmth and nurturing spirit. Her interests included a love for puzzles and baking, where she created delightful treats for her loved ones. In addition, Linda enjoyed watching western television shows and spent many cherished moments outdoors, appreciating the beauty of nature and observing birds. These simple pleasures brought her happiness, especially during the times she was able to enjoy long walks before her illness.
Linda will be remembered not only for her creative interests and culinary skills but also for the deep bonds she formed with her family. Her legacy continues through her loving children and grandchildren, who carry forward her spirit and values.
Funeral services to honor Linda’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on November 1, 2024, at Playle-Rimer-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Kirksville, Missouri, with a visitation prior from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Linda Jolene Routh will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and the community she so dearly loved.
