Lois Lavon Price

Lois Lavon Price, 91 of Macon, Missouri formerly of Kirksville passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022.

The daughter of Robert and Eva Mae (Hunsaker) Hudson, she was born near Novelty, Missouri on October 3, 1931. She attended Novelty School through High School, graduating in 1949 as class salutatorian. She joined the United States Air Force in the summer of 1951, with basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, entering the one and only women’s Air Force Band at Lackland, as a clarinetist and saxophonist.

She met her future husband at Advanced instrumentalist courses at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington D.C. in the spring of 1953. They married at Lackland on November 16, 1953. Lavon was given in marriage (in the absence of her father) by General Steele, Commander of Lackland Air Force Base. This lifelong marriage of 69 years resulted in three wonderful children; Vicki, Robert and Deborah.

Lavon worked hard for many years too, in addition to the GI Bill, she put her husband through higher education. Through her tireless efforts helped her husband Bob graduate with a BSE and Masters degree from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) and Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi with a Master in Theology and Christian Education.

Lavon leaves a beautiful legacy of her husband, Robert; three children, Vicki (Terry) Robinson of Kirksville; Robert (Kerri) Price of Brashear, MO and Deborah (Steve) Grace of South Dakota; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Wanda Hall of Macon, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Corey Robinson; and seven brothers and sisters.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, friends and family, especially for her wisdom and faithfulness to her family and Lord of her life, Jesus Christ.

Lavon was a member of American Legion Post 20 and New Hope Church. She enjoyed animals, especially her dog Sabrina. She also enjoyed having people over to her home and had a gift for hospitality.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Chaney, Alexander Grace, Logan Robinson, Adam Robinson, Grant Price, and Brandon Rhea.

Memorials in memory of Lavon are suggested to New Hope Church.
