Marcella B. Huff, 93, of Warrensburg, formerly of Kirksville, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Country Club Care Center, Warrensburg.
Marcella was born March 19, 1925 in Pickering, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas M. and Orpha (DeGroff) Walton.
Marcella graduated from Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri.
On November 21, 1947 she was united in marriage to Arthur S. Huff in Liscomb, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1998.
Marcella attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College, now Truman State University, and then briefly taught music and English in rural schools in southeastern Iowa and northeastern Missouri. But for the majority of her life she was a homemaker.
Marcella was an accomplished piano, organ and violin musician. She still regularly played the piano up until her death, playing many hymns from memory from her many years as a church organist and pianist.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Kirksville.
Survivors include three sons, James (Janis) Huff of Warrensburg, Missouri, Steven (Kathleen) Huff of Leesburg, Virginia, and Joseph (Marci) Huff of Ozark, Missouri. In addition she is survived by her brother, Melvin (Mary) Walton and her sister, Marian Claman.
She is also survived by grandsons, Thomas Huff and Philip Huff; granddaughters, Susan (Chris) Doran, Cynthia (Sean) Hiatt, and Lindsay (Drew) Turnbow. Great-grandchildren, Lucy Dasher, Cena Hiatt, Dexter Hiatt and Willa Turnbow and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vilas Walton and Thomas Walton; her husband, Arthur; son, David L. Huff and grandson, William A. Huff.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday (July 2, 2018) at Highland Park Cemetery with Reverend Jim Pitney officiating.
