Margaret Thomas

January 22, 1933 — January 27, 2018

Margaret Welch THOMAS passed away peacefully on Saturday, 27 January 2018, 5 days after celebrating her 85th birthday. She outlived all of her siblings, her twin brother, Junius John THOMAS, preceding her in death a couple years ago, as well as her sister, Carol Elaine THOMAS White and eldest brother, Edwin Donald THOMAS prior to that. Margaret is survived by 3 children, Cecil T Champenois Jr, Cecilia Marie CHAMPENOIS Barnard, and Edwin Donald CHAMPENOIS, one son having preceded her in death, John Calvert CHAMPENOIS, in 2003, as well as Twin daughters in 1958. Margaret has 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Margaret had just recently moved to Kirksville, Missouri, to be near her daughter Cecilia and Cece’s husband Bob Barnard.

Margaret was a great mother and taught us to be Christian in our behaviors and attitudes. She loved her family and loved spending time with them all. For a woman who literally died for 5 minutes or more in 1958 after losing her twin daughters, and came back, we are amazed her life was extended for so long. We are grateful to her for coming back to raise us kids up.
