Mary Kay Casady Veach passed away February 15, 2021 at the Valley View Health and Rehabilitation facility in Moberly, Missouri at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 19 days. She was born April 27 th , 1943 west of Graysville in Putnam County, Missouri. She was the second of five children born to Herbert Casady and Pearl (Ray) Casady.
Mary Kay attended the Graysville country school through 8 th grade, where she graduated two years early, before entering Livonia High School for her freshman year. She then transferred to Unionville High School, where she graduated at age 16 in 1959. She also completed one year of higher education at Kirksville State Teachers College.
Mary Kay was married to John D. Veach in 1964. They had four sons and later divorced. She was a kind and loving mother who worked hard to provide for her boys, making countless personal sacrifices along the way to overcome many difficult situations. Her car could often be seen right after work near the different baseball diamonds at Kirksville's Robinson Field during summer evenings back in the 1970's. She was a true “overcomer”, always seeming to find ways to come through and be there for her family.
Mary Kay was also a wonderful daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She wasn't perfect but most of those who knew her agree that she was one of the friendliest people they knew. Her generosity and willingness to help others was evident wherever she went. Mary Kay had an incredible sense of humor. She enjoyed sharing jokes and witty banter with her family and friends and could always be counted on to tell a great story. She loved the countryside and its people. The last 20 years of her life were spent living on the rural farmland where she had developed so many childhood memories in northeastern Missouri and traveling to places she enjoyed exploring. It always seemed the familiar country roads she grew up on were her favorite destinations of all. She surrounded herself with people who truly knew and loved her, and she will be greatly missed.
Mary Kay is survived by four sons, Rocky and Bobbi Veach, Ron and Tammy Veach, Rick and Michelle Veach, Brian and Julie Veach; one sister, Debbi Casady; sixteen grandchildren, Rachel Adams, Jordan Bartolo, Wendy Meza, Amanda Stretz, Morgan Veach, Katelyn Burkholder, Talisha Veach, Courtney Veach, Kayn Fry, Cheyenne Archer, Molli Worthington, Bryndan Veach, Ysabella Veach, Griffon Veach, Layla Dennis, Dime Veach; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
