Mary Francis Rennells

Mary Rennells, 87, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville on Monday, October 18, 2021.  She had been a resident there only briefly.

Mary Francis (Hamilton) Rennells was born in Putnam County, Missouri, on February 20, 1934, the daughter of Cecil and Ruby (Galloway) Hamilton, who preceded her in death.  She graduated from Unionville High School in 1952, and soon after married Leon Clark.  Mary and Leon began married life working for a farmer in Iowa, but soon moved back to Putnam County where they began farming just west of Unionville. Four children were born to this union: Jerrad, Jeff, Tena, and Telesa.  Mary worked at Toastmaster in Centerville, Iowa, and at Melinda’s Dress Shop in Unionville.

Leon passed away on April 11, 1986, and Mary married Kenneth Rennells in 1987.  Kenny passed away on March 5, 2021. Mary enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Unionville Country Club.  She was also an excellent candy maker and pie baker.  Mary had a pleasant personality and easy smile.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Unionville.

Mary is survived by her children: Jerrad Clark, Unionville, Missouri; Jeff (Melanie) Clark, of California; Tena Clark, Kansas City, Kansas; Telesa (Wendell) Durham, Hannibal, Missouri; and Steve (Teresa) Rennells, Osage Beach, Missouri.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren as well as two sisters, Evelyn (Harry) Klinginsmith of Laredo, Missouri, and Carolyn (Fred) Lenards of Hamilton, Missouri.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Others who preceded her in death are a brother, Kermit, and his wife, Chloe Hamilton, an infant sister, Ruby Hamilton, and a daughter-in-law, Dee Clark.

Funeral services for Mary Rennells will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville at 3:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at the Unionville Cemetery in Unionville.
