Mary Robinson, 84, of Gladstone, MO, passed away at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO, on Monday, April 16, 2018.

Mary Fay (Wilks) Robinson was born in Powersville, MO, on October 11, 1933, the daughter of Woodrow and Fay (Chinn) Wilks, who preceded her in death. She was reared in Powersville and attended high school there until the school closed. She graduated from Unionville High School. Mary married Winton Dean Robinson at the Powersville Christian Church on March 17, 1956 and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2008.

Mary and Dean lived in St. Paul, MN, for 6 ½ years where she was a bookkeeper at St. Luke’s Hospital. They moved to Kansas City, MO, in 1962 and Mary worked as a bookkeeper for Frist National Bank of Kansas City for 25 years. She retired to care for her grandchildren and when the youngest of those began kindergarten she went to work as a lunch lady for the North Kansas City school district. She retired from that job in 2004.

Mary loved to cook and was considered by her family as “the best cook ever.’ She was especially noted for the chocolate pies and cakes. She enjoyed family vacations with her family and going out to eat. Mary was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. She liked to take photographs in her younger years, as well as show cattle and be active in 4-H. She was a member of the Powersville Christian Church and taught Sunday School there as a young adult. Her greatest passion in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary Fay is survived by her children, Ronnie (Tena) Robinson of Liberty, MO, and Julie (Tom) Morse of Gladstone, MO. Her grandchildren are Kyle Morse, Stacey Suvanto, Amanda Keathley and Sarah Robinson. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren as well as two brothers, Robert (Cindy) Wilks of Muscatine, IA, and Elmer (Delores) Wilks of Blue Eye, MO; and two sisters, Patsy Lane of Allerton, IA, and Judy (Joe) Hunt of Unionville, MO.

Others who preceded Mary in death were two sisters, Laura Jo Abbott and Diana Wesley.

Funeral services for Mary Robinson will at 12:30 pm at the Powersville Christian Church in Powersville, MO. Visitation will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville from 11:00 am – noon the same day as the service. Interment will be at the Powersville Cemetery.

Memorials for Mary Robinson are suggested to the Powersville Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
