Mary Jane Willis

Mary Jane Willis, 78 of Novinger, MO passed away Wednesday (April 17th, 2024) at LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle, MO.

The daughter of Henry and Vada (Fetters) Dagenhart, Mary was born September 8th, 1945 in Aledo, IL. On December 14th, 1968 in Edina, MO, she was united in marriage to William H. Willis.

Mary is survived by her children, Vicky Willis of Florida, Brenda Jones (Kevin) of Green Castle, MO, and William J. Willis (JoAnna) of Novinger, MO; siblings, June Webb of Oregon, Jim Dagenhart of Lees Summit, MO, Nancy Winchell of Arizona, and Noreen Farris of Edina, MO; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Debra Ann, and siblings, Lois Ausmus, John Dagenhart, Shirley Hysell, Dorothy Payne, Linda Bowen, and Donnie Dagenhart.

Mary grew up in Aldeo, IL before her family moved to Edina. She worked at Florsheim Shoe factory until it closed and Lewellyns at the hospital until her retirement. Mary was very involved on the farm with her husband William and loved to garden and can. She enjoyed helping her children through all their 4H projects. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren. She always told you what she thought, no matter if you liked it or not.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Coonfield officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
