Michael Andrew Cleaver

Michael Cleaver, 58, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 19, 2022, after a battle with kidney disease.

Michael Andrew Cleaver was born in Ft. Myers, Florida, on July 11, 1963, the son of Richard “Pete” Cleaver and Joyce (Giles) Raabe.  He moved with his family to Omaha, Nebraska, at a young age and was reared in Omaha.  He married Laurie Smith in Omaha on June 15, 1991. Michael served in the National Guard and later owned and operated a pizza place in Omaha.  He then was engaged in the pest control industry in Council Bluffs, Iowa, for a number of years before moving to Unionville in 2002.  He continued in pest control in Unionville.   Michael was a huge Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and enjoyed watching wrestling on television.  He liked to fish and shoot guns for target practice.  Michael had a good sense of humor and was a great joker.  He was quick witted and was able to keep a good frame of mind in his illness.

Michael is survived by his wife, Laurie.  He is also survived by three daughters, Katie (Anthony) Herrell, Ft. Worth, Texas; Sheena (Harley) Wheeler, Milan, Missouri; and Niki (Johnathan) Aguero, Unionville, MO. His grandchildren are Noah Raines, Leo Raines, Kailee Raines, Stephanie Wheeler, Rayven Wheeler, Isabella Wheeler, Bayleigh Hixenbaugh, and Cameron Aguero.  Michael is also survived by his mother, Joyce Raabe of Omaha, Nebraska, and his siblings, Ron Cleaver, Missouri Valley, Iowa; Rick (Julie) Cleaver, Creston, Iowa; Lennie (Stacey) Cleaver, Omaha, Nebraska; and Diann (Michael) Chafa, Omaha, Nebraska.

Michael was preceded in death by his father.

A visitation for Michael will be held at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville from 6:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022.  A private graveside service will be held at the Lucerne Cemetery in Lucerne, Missouri, at a later date.
