Michael Gillespie

Michael Eldon Gillespie, 75 of Davenport, Iowa passed away Monday, August 19th, 2024 at the UI Health Care Medical Center in Iowa City, IA. 

The son of Ray and Odessa (McKee) Glaspie he was born March 3rd, 1949 in the Worthington area where he grew-up and attended the Jimtown School through the eighth grade. As a young man at the age of eighteen he moved to Iowa and worked as a mechanic at Tri City Fab and Crescent.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Roberts Edwards on December 20th, 1978 and they continued to live in Iowa.

Michael is survived by his step-son Larry Edwards and wife Anna of Davenport, IA; step- daughter, Cindy Chadwick and husband Doug of Wheatland, IA; sixteen step-grandchildren; several step great and great-great grandchildren; and one brother Gilbert Glaspie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, three brothers, one sister, and two step-sons.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 25th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Dooley Funeral Home in Queen City, MO. Visitation will be the hour prior till the time of the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Home Cemetery.
