Michael W. Mulford, 75, of Kirksville passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019 at Northeast Missouri Regional Health Center in Kirksville.
The son of Max E. and Lois (Carmichael) Mulford, he was born on Oct. 25, 1943 at Ft. Francis E. Warren Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyo., where his father was stationed prior to his Army deployment to the European theater of World War II. Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., and a Juris Doctorate degree from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo. A longtime attorney in Kirksville, Michael spent more than 50 years before the Missouri bar. He was principal partner of the law firm of Mulford and DeLeeuw with offices on North Main Street. Prior to his move to Kirksville in the mid-1970s, Michael practiced law in both Richmond and Clayton, Missouri.
He is survived by his son, Justin P. Mulford of Sacramento, Calif.; his wife, Linda, a sister, Patricia D. (Frank) Miles of St. Petersburg, Fla., and two brothers, D. Kent (Tamara) Mulford of Wentzville, Mo., and Scott (Marlene) Mulford of Springfield, Ill., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of his life will be held for close friends and family on Saturday at the Holiday Inn Express in Kirksville between 2 and 4 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Michael W. Mulford are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
