Myrtle Fern Bratton

Myrtle Fern Bratton, 91 of Columbia, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at The Villa at Blue Ridge in Columbia.

The daughter of Clinton L. and Monna May (Dunham) Humphrey, she was born November 26, 1931 in Willmathsville, Missouri. In 1948 in Bloomfield, Iowa she married Ray Neal Bratton.

Myrtle attended school in Milton, Iowa. The early part of her marriage was spent in Illinois until 1958 when they moved to Kirksville. She and her husband opened the Supreme Body Shop. She did some parttime work including working at Northtown Cafe, but was mostly a homemaker. Due to her sight she moved to the Villa at Blue Ridge in Columbia.

She was a big dirt track race fan, loved to sew, dance, sing and play guitar. She sang on the radio for a time. She had a dog, Pier that she loved. She was well loved at The Villa at Blue Ridge in Columbia.

Myrtle is survived by one son, Robert (Kathy) Bratton of Columbia, MO a; one daughter, Rebecca Hatchitt of Grinnell, IA and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; one son, Micheal Ray Bratton; five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 with funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Willmathsville Cemetery.
