Patrick Lavern McGillan

April 4, 1951-April 15, 2024

He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Betty McGillan, and brother Michael McGillan.

Survived by his common law wife Becky Nolan; Brother, Colin McGillan; children, Patrick McGillan, Kathleen Nelsen (Lance), Jennifer McGillan (Ryan), Devan and Dustin Evans (Danielle); and all his grandchildren, Cadence, Imani, Isaiah, Olivia, Brooklyn, Zion, Matthew, Dean, Pat Jr., Annika.

Pat had a long career in the Air Force and finished it by retiring from the Air National Guard. He’s a member of the local VFW, Schuyler County American Legion Post 784 group, and a local community champion. Pat spent a lot of time in his retirement years helping the community of Queen City and being helpful to the local food shelf distribution center. When he wasn’t volunteering there, he mentioned driving his Amish friends to their destinations. Pat’s other love was for the ham radio and his little plot of land with his animals and tinkering around the property to make things work better.

The Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 20th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Dooley Funeral Home in Queen City, MO with Reverend Justin Briny officiating. The visitation will be two hours before the start of the service on Saturday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Burial with Military Rites will follow the service at Jimtown Cemetery West of Queen City.
