Patty Baldwin, 82, of Battlefield, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home in the company of her family on Sunday, October 11, 2020.

Patty Sue Baldwin was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on August 23, 1938, the daughter of Ernest Witherspoon and Annie Dehoma (Norman) Hamilton, who preceded her in death.  She graduated from Livonia (Missouri) High School in 1956.  Patty married Dewey Junior Baldwin in Omaha, Missouri, on March 2, 1957, and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2014.  Patty and Junior went to Washington state soon after they were married where they picked apples for six months.  They returned to Kansas City where Junior attended Tech school for diesel mechanics.  Patty and Junior moved to Putnam County where Patty worked for a little over ten years as a teacher’s aide with special education at the Putnam County Middle School.  She and Junior lived on a farm near Omaha and they attended Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.  Following the closing of Missouri Mining, they moved to Springfield, Missouri, and Patty was engaged in house cleaning.  They were active at Dale Street United Methodist Church there.  Patty and Junior retired back to Putnam County in 1998 and opened BMB Game Preserve.  Patty moved to Battlefield in 2018 to be near her family.

Patty was a godly woman who worked tirelessly for her Lord.  She was active in churches and was a member of Omaha Baptist Church before moving to Battlefield, where she joined First Baptist Church of Battlefield. She taught Sunday school and worked with children for many years.  Patty loved to play the piano and sing and she and Junior often sang together.  Patty was a bold prayer warrior and a mighty intercessor.  She was a gracious hostess and a wonderful cook.  Pies and cobblers were her specialties.  She also liked to put together puzzles and write poetry.

Patty is survived by a son, Don (Crystal) Baldwin, of Commerce, Georgia, and daughter, Kayla (Andy) Dorris, of Battlefield, Missouri.  Eight grandchildren survive Patty: Brandon (Lindsay) Baldwin, Melody (Jason) Hartin, Diamond Dorris, Louis Dorris, Eric Dorris, Saranne (Ryan) Lowther, Summer Sisk, and Jacob Baldwin. She is also survived by six great grandchildren with one on the way.  Patty’s surviving brother is David (Cynthia) Hamilton of Almeda, California, and her surviving sisters are Betty (Pharis) Fowler, of Spring, Texas, and Shirley Crooks of Blue Eye, Missouri.  She is also survived by sisters-in-law Glennis Baldwin and Louise Mikels of Unionville, Missouri, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
