Pauline White, 89, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri, on Thursday, January 28, 2021. She had resided there since 2017.
Phyllis Pauline White was born at Glendale, Missouri, on February 17, 1931, the daughter of Oscar and Octa (Abbott) West. She graduated from Livonia High School in 1949 and married John Dean White on April 24, 1950. Soon after their marriage they moved to Davenport, Iowa, where Pauline worked at Federal Bakery and the Times Cafeteria. They moved to Bettendorf, Iowa, where they lived their married life. Pauline and John set a beautiful example of a happy marriage for their family. They loved to travel with their family, making many great memories. Pauline worked for Kmart for 20 years. She loved her job and being around people. After she and John retired, John was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and she lovingly devoted her life to caring for him until his death on November 4, 2010. She spent many hours doing needlework and embroidery. She gave away most of her handiwork.
Pauline had a servant’s heart, whether caring for her three children, her husband, her co-workers, or her church family. She was active at the Bettendorf Christian Church where she taught, worked in VBS, helped in the kitchen, and assisted in communion preparation. She had a sweet spirit. Pauline dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pauline is survived by her three children: Theckla (Bill) Triplett of Livonia, Missouri; Gail (Emmett) Bryan of Checotah, Oklahoma; and Kirk (Jennifer) White of Bettendorf, Iowa. Her grandchildren are Chelsea (Kade) Jackson of Downing, Missouri, Kale (Sarah) Triplett of Worthington, Missouri, Madelynne and Haleigh White of Bettendorf, Iowa.. Her five great grandchildren are Carson, Collin, and Conley Jackson, and Lily and Sage Triplett.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and husband, and a sister, Melba Blue.
Graveside services for Pauline White will be at the St. John Cemetery north of Livonia, Missouri, at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Interment will be at the St. John Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the St. John Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27 th , Unionville, MO, 63565.
