Peggie Weston, 70, of Unionville, MO, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, March 12, 2018.
Peggie Sue Weston was born in Klamath Falls, OR, on December 5, 1947, the daughter of Roy and Ruby (French) Weston, who preceded her in death. Her family moved to Anchorage, AK, when Peggie was 5 years old where they had a truck farm and later ran Bun Drive-in. Peggie received her college degree in accounting and worked in accounts receivable with a firm in Santa Barbara, CA. She married John Russell Weston in Las Vegas, NV, on January 1, 1984, and he survives at home in Unionville. Peggie worked in Real Estate in Las Vegas for eight years and then she and Russell moved to Arizona and began an arts and crafts business. Even though she was self-taught, Peggie was a gifted artist who could draw, make crafts and make quilts. She often donated quilts to the VA, Social Services for help with children, and to orphanages. Russell and Peggie wore out an Air Stream camper doing art and crafts shows all over California, Nevada, and Arizona. They retired and moved to Unionville, MO, in 2002, in order to be closer to family. Peggie was a member of the local American Legion Auxiliary in Unionville.
Peggy was a determined and strong willed person who did not let physical difficulties later in life keep her from doing what she enjoyed doing.
In addition to her husband, Peggie is survived by a daughter, Chandra Anderson and husband Tim of Unionville, MO, and two step-sons, Kenneth Weston and wife Linda of Springdale, AR, and Jon Paul Weston and wife Tessa of Tulsa, OK. Her surviving grandchildren are Tony, Adam, Jesse A., Jennifer, Samantha, Devin, Mason, Bryce, Zoey, Austin, Jesse, and Tabitha. She is also survived by several great grandchildren as well as a brother, Roy Weston, Jr., and a sister, Jean Weston, both of Goleta, CA.
Funeral services for Peggie Weston will be held at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Visitation will be from 6:00 -8:00 pm on Friday, March 16. Interment will be at the Unionville Cemetery.
